A polarizer is usually employed to mute reflections in water images or glass. Unfortunately and only until recently did I discover the value of this oft-used glass as a neutral density filter (I don't have an ND that fits the 16-35). This shot would have been otherwise dull without the dawn colors of warm sunlight, blue sky and green leaves.
About a decade before the first version of photoshop, I asked a photographer at an exhibit what filters he used.
"None. I just wait for the right light."
So, here you have it, almost SOOTC, with a little increase in contrast. Reflections can be a good thing.
