Six degrees Fahrenheit this morning. Have no idea what the windchill was but it only took a couple minutes of exposed hands on a metal camera before my fingers were screaming. I've never seen anyone in the middle of the Reflecting Pool, save for a mass protest. The ten minutes before sunrise seemed like an hour. I figured a cop or park ranger would haul me out at any moment. The sun hit rising steam southeast of the National Monument and then, only for a couple minutes, it isolated and warmed the Lincoln Memorial around a frigid blue sky and pool.
